What Closely is

Closely is a conversation companion for two partners. It asks questions, reflects on answers, and keeps a shared journal. It is not therapy, counselling, medical care, legal advice, or an emergency service. If you or someone else is in danger, contact local emergency services.

Who can use Closely

You must be an adult (18 or older, or the age of majority where you live) and sign in with your own account. One account can belong to one space at a time.

Your space and your partner

• The person who creates a space can invite one partner with a single-use link that is valid for 7 days.
• Everything in a space is visible to both partners.
• Either partner can leave at any time. Leaving deletes the text of that person’s own messages and deletes shared memories and ideas for both partners.
• When the last partner leaves, the space is deleted.
• Do not invite someone without their agreement.

AI features

• AI replies are generated by a third-party model and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. Use your own judgement.
• AI runs only when both partners allow it. Each space has daily usage limits that the operator may change.
• AI availability is not guaranteed and the operator may pause it.
• Closely never uses AI to make decisions with legal effect about you.

Acceptable use

• Do not harass, threaten, or abuse your partner or anyone else through Closely.
• Do not submit content that is unlawful or that you do not have the right to share.
• Do not try to access another space, bypass limits, or interfere with the service.
• Do not use Closely to store secrets you need to keep from your partner.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you write. You give the operator permission to store, display, and process your content only as needed to provide Closely to you and your partner, including sending it to the AI provider when you both allow AI. See the Privacy Policy.

Fees

Closely is currently free while in beta. If paid features are introduced, their price and terms will be clearly described before any purchase. Nothing in these terms obliges you to pay.

Ending your use

You can leave your space at any time. The operator may suspend or end access for violations of these terms, for legal reasons, or if the service is discontinued, and will try to give notice where reasonable.

Disclaimers and liability

Closely is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on AI-generated content. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable consumer law.

Changes, governing law, and contact

These terms may change. Material changes will be announced in the app with a new effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept it.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
